Spare Parts Important please read
The way we deliver spare parts is changing. Shortly after integration, we will begin delivering spare parts directly to your site.
You may already work with suppliers who operate in this way and be familiar with the process. However, if this is new to you, we would like to explain what will be changing and answer some of the questions you may have.
From 1 October, the way we manage parts and spares for your servicing work will change:
All parts will be delivered directly to your site ahead of your service visit.
All parts will be delivered via DHL.
All parts will be delivered to a site-specific location.
Once you have confirmed the date and time of your next service visit, Atlas Copco Compressors will begin preparing the required parts and scheduling the work.
If you need to change the agreed service date, you can do so up to 10 days before the scheduled visit. After this point, we can still reschedule the engineer where possible, but your parts may already be in the process of being picked, packed and dispatched.
All parts required for your service and any non-critical repairs will arrive on site 5 days before the scheduled work. We kindly ask that these parts are stored in a dry, secure location, preferably close to the compressor or in a clearly identified stores area. Please do not leave them exposed to the elements.
Ensuring parts are easy to locate helps our engineers start work promptly and avoids unnecessary time spent searching around the site.
All parts required for a particular job will arrive together, either on a pallet or in a box. Each shipment will be clearly labelled as Atlas Copco and will include compressor information, serial numbers and other relevant details to help you identify it easily.
If you have any concerns or require further information, please contact the Anglian team, who will be happy to help.
DHL: Why This Information Is Important
We mention DHL because many customers have regular delivery schedules with specific courier companies.
By letting you know that DHL will be making these deliveries, we hope to make it easier for your team to identify and manage incoming shipments. This can be particularly helpful if you have a gatehouse, warehouse team or designated goods-in process.
Site-Specific Delivery Locations
Our agreement with DHL requires deliveries to be made to the specific delivery address we provide.
For example, if the compressor being serviced is located in Building X or Warehouse Y, DHL should deliver the parts directly to that location. Deliveries should not simply be left with the first available person on site.
Please keep us informed if deliveries are not being made to the correct location or if the service does not meet your expectations.
Who Is Responsible If Parts Go Missing?
In an ideal situation, we agree a service date, deliver the required parts and store them in a location where they can be easily accessed by our engineer.
However, we understand that issues can occasionally occur.
Once the parts have been delivered to your site in accordance with our agreed arrangements, responsibility for their safekeeping passes to you. If parts are lost or go missing after delivery, any replacement costs may be chargeable.
Thankfully, this is a rare occurrence. If you have concerns about storing parts securely, please contact us and we will do everything possible to help you avoid additional costs.
What happens when things go wrong?
Sometimes circumstances change and plans do not go as expected.
If there are any issues with your service appointment or parts delivery, we will contact you as soon as possible and work with you to find the best solution. Equally, if you experience any difficulties on your side, please get in touch.
Our priority is to support your business and keep your equipment operating effectively. If problems arise, we will always do our best to help.
Why We Work This Way
Delivering parts directly to your site benefits both your business and ours.
By sending parts directly to you before the service visit, our engineers can travel straight to your site without first collecting parts from a depot. This improves efficiency, helps us keep costs competitive and ensures we continue to provide the high level of service you expect from Atlas Copco.
While this process may seem different at first, most customers find it straightforward once they have experienced it a few times.
Packing Materials
Our engineers are instructed to remove and dispose of all packaging materials at the end of their visit.
There is no need for your team to make any special arrangements for the disposal of packaging.
